After experiencing a “life-changing” face alteration, a father from Dumbarton is looking forward to spending Christmas this year with great excitement.
Alan Findlay, a lighting industry employee from Dumbarton who was 56 years old, has always struggled with skin issues that were difficult to cure for his whole life. Once he reached adulthood, he was given a diagnosis of rosacea, which is a persistent rash that affects the center region of the face. Individuals who have pale complexion and blue eyes are more likely to be affected by this condition. Creams and antibiotics are the only treatments that are available to keep the illness at bay; there is no true, effective remedy.
When Alan first noticed wrinkles in his nose in 2018, he was diagnosed with rhinophyma, a skin ailment that affects the nose and causes the skin to get thicker and the sebaceous glands, which produce oil, to become bigger.
Because of his lack of familiarity with the illness, his primary care physician suggested that he visit a skin clinic. His condition was disregarded as the consequence of excessive intake of alcohol by the majority of witnesses who were unaware of the situation, despite the fact that Alan had never been more than a moderate drinker who did so for social purposes.
However, as his health deteriorated and his nose started to get more and more elongated and swollen, he began to suffer emotions of loneliness and worthlessness to a greater and greater extent.
With the exception of coming to his place of employment in Glasgow, he avoided engaging in any kind of social engagement and made sure to keep himself and his personal family to himself. In a fortunate turn of events, his coworkers continued to treat him in the same respectful and kind manner that they had always done.
On the other hand, Alan started to feel hopeless on account of the fact that no one could cure his ailment. A lengthy wait was required for cosmetic surgery, and the extensive treatments that were provided seemed to need the patient to take days, weeks, or even months off from work.
In the end, Rowan, Alan’s wife, made the decision to take charge of the situation and began doing research, which ultimately led her to the Ever Clinic in Glasgow. He finished his treatment regimen with a follow-up appointment that lasted for two hours in May of 2022.
