Things got chaotic during the Biden White House’s Press Conference about the California wildfires on the night of Monday, January 13, with President Joe Biden’s staff appearing to start yelling at White House reporters as they tried asking questions about the wildfires. The incident, predictably caused a great degree of shock online.
The press conference came alongside Biden making a disaster declaration about the wildfires, saying, “Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. made additional disaster assistance available to the State of California by authorizing an increase in the level of Federal funding for emergency work undertaken in the State of California as a result of wildfires and straight-line winds beginning on January 7, 2025, and continuing.”
The statement further added, commenting on the aid to be provided, “Under the President’s order today, Federal funds for debris removal and emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance have been increased to 100 percent of the total eligible costs for a period of 180 days of the State’s choosing within the first 270 days from the start of the incident period.”
Further, Biden issued a statement on the highly destructive fires, saying, “Our hearts ache for the 24 innocent souls we have lost in the wildfires across Los Angeles. Jill and I pray for them and their loved ones. We are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the unprecedented ongoing wildfires across Southern California.”
He added, “I am being frequently briefed on intensive efforts to suppress the wildfires across Los Angeles, and have directed our team to respond promptly to any request for additional federal firefighting assistance. At my direction, hundreds of federal personnel and unique federal aerial and ground support has been sent to California to support the firefighting efforts and help communities in need. My Administration remains laser-focused on helping survivors and we will continue to use every tool available to support the urgent firefight as the winds are projected to increase. To the brave firefighters and first responders working day and night to suppress these fires and save lives: our nation is grateful. You represent the best of America and we are in your debt.”
In any case, it was during the Monday night press conference that Biden looked out of it as his staff members got loud trying to shut down by shouting down the members of the press. The RNC Research account, posting a video of the incident, said, “Biden sits and makes faces at the press as his handlers SCREAM at them to leave the room following his wildfires briefing. Fewer than seven days until Biden disgraces that room no longer.”
Similarly, conservative X personality Nick Sortor said, posting the same clip, “🚨 NOW: Biden staffers are SCREAMING at the press to prevent them from asking Biden questions about the California fires Meanwhile Biden makes weird faces like he just crapped himself. This clown show of an administration ends in less than 7 days.” Watch Biden here:
Another poster said, using the same clip, “President Biden’s staffers were seen aggressively interjecting, raising their voices and shouting at the media for asking questions about the Los Angeles wildfires. How dystopian is this?” Similarly, another said, “Can you believe this ? Biden sits and makes faces at the press as his handlers SCREAM at them to leave the room following his wildfires briefing.”
