Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Are Engaged: ‘Forever Begins Now’

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have been in a loving relationship since June 2023,

and the couple has now taken their romance to the next level.

The 32-year-old singer and actress announced her engagement to the 36-year-old music producer in a heartfelt Instagram post on December 11, sharing her excitement with fans worldwide.

In her Instagram carousel, Gomez showcased a close-up of her stunning engagement ring alongside a joyous picture of her and Blanco celebrating the milestone with laughter and a warm embrace. “Forever begins now,” she captioned the post, adding an emotional touch to the announcement. Blanco chimed in with his own comment, humorously calling her “my wife” as he hinted at his eagerness for their upcoming union.

Gomez further highlighted her happiness in her Instagram Stories, posting a mirror selfie to give her followers another glimpse of her sparkling new ring.

Blanco had previously hinted at his desire for a lifelong commitment with Gomez during a May appearance on The Howard Stern Show. Speaking about their bond, he shared, “When I look at her… I’m always just like, I don’t know a world where it could be better than this.” His words now feel like a foreshadowing of their engagement.

The couple’s history goes back several years before their romance began. In 2019, Gomez and Blanco collaborated on the hit single “I Can’t Get Enough” alongside Tainy and J Balvin. However, it wasn’t until June 2023 that they began dating. Their connection grew deeper over time, and in August 2023, Gomez released the single “Single Soon,” which Blanco had produced. Later that year, Gomez confirmed their relationship publicly, liking posts on fan accounts and even commenting on one, “He is my absolute everything in my heart.” The pair made their red carpet debut together at the 2024 Emmys in January, solidifying their status as a Hollywood power couple.

During a February interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Gomez shared a glimpse into their relationship, expressing what made their bond so special. “Without getting into too much detail, I think it’s really important to meet someone who respects you,” she said. “It’s nice to lean on someone who understands the world I live in. Overall, it’s the safest I’ve felt, and it’s been lovely. I’ve grown so much through it.”

In May, Gomez opened up even further in an interview with TIME, reflecting on how her life might have looked if she hadn’t met Blanco. “I was alone for five years and got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself for two years over it before I accepted it,” she said. “I even had a plan. If I didn’t meet anyone, I was going to adopt a baby at 35. Then Benny came into my life—it just happens when you least expect it.”
